Design has always been a part of Malcolm’s life; a father who designed homes and a mother in fashion, Malcolm was exposed to Interior Design, Architecture, Fashion and Travel from an early age.
Once completing University Malcolm started a successful Event Production company in Vancouver Canada. His events included everything from intimate dinner parties for 20 to galas of up to 500. During this time he collaborated with Calvin Klein and Four Seasons Hotels and Resots to produce black tie functions for the companies annual national conferences. Combining full-service event production and lifestyle planning Malcolm’s unique eye and attention to detail made him one of Vancouver’s most sought after Event Producers and Designers.
All the while he was also contributing as a freelance stylist for the distinguished Holt Renfrew Canada flagship store windows further adapting his skills for design and visual impact on an international level.
Malcolm’s passion for art and travel has never stopped him from pursuing new goals, after numerous trips to Africa, Asia, South America, Europe and Australia Malcolm discovered his true passion for design leading him to complete his Bachelor of Interior Design in Toronto.
Styling photo shoots for local and international magazines such as Style At Home, Malcolm is a contributing design consultant to artist blogs and newspapers around the globe.
Chatelaine Magazine named Malcolm Associate Home Editor where he produced, wrote, designed and styled various editorial spreads. Through his media contributions a Toronto design firm noticed Malcolm’s passion for design naming him Lead Designer and Stylist for fashion designer Marc Ecko’s New York Estate where his creativity was further cultivated.
Malcolm was then approached to be senior stylist of Pure Design on HGTV with host and designer Samantha Pynn. Once taking on this role Malcolm aided in designing, styling and curating spaces over the course of two very successful seasons. Malcolm's design skills can also be seen on HGTV's "The Mix" as well as HGTV's "The Party".
Malcolm is currently appreaing on Season 2 of HGTV's Summer Home and is a weekly contributor to The Globe and Mail Style section.
Though his personal aesthetic is modern, he is a versatile designer who has decorated and styled everything from ultramodern to traditional interiors, and condos to sprawling estates. Malcolm has gone onto be one of the most sought after designers in the industry with a roster of clients across North America.
